Tarantulas can go up to 2 years without eating or drinking. Sea turtles can go up to 35 years without eating or drinking.

  1. 35?! – 35 years is an impossibly long time to go without food, let alone water. Fresh water turtles could possibly go a year, considering they would lose almost no water in the water, but they would still lose a little. And sea turtles would have a lower concentration of salt then the water around them and would lose miniscule amounts through their skin [read “Do Fish Drink Water”, and look at the answer to “Do fish drink water”]. Of course a sea turtle’s skin isn’t as pourous as a fish’s, but it still isn’t like steel. Even one year is surprising, but I guess I can believe that.
