Probably the best known multiple meaning is the hebrew word “SHALOM” which means, alternately, “hello”, “good-bye”, and “peace”

  1. Ni hao? Bye Bye? – Ni hao means good bye in Chinese? What are you smoking. In all of my time in the Orient no chinese person ever said Ni Hao to mean goodbye. Zai Jian is good bye.

I was thinking that Aloha means as many things as Shalom.

  2. Truthdetector… – I’d just like to point out that there is more than one form of Chinese. Depending on where you were, people spoke, to my knowledge, Mandarin or Catonese. They were both different.

  3. Frenchies – “Salut” (French) can mean hello, good bye, bless you, peace, how are you, etc. along with several other meanings.
