It IS true. – The crow is smarter than the parrot. The ability to speak doesn’t make parrots smarter.

oh really… – The african grey parrot has the capacity to think at the same level as a seven to ten year old human child. In comparisons with the smartest animals in the world, the grey ranked number one and the crow number six. sources: animal planet, encyclopedia britanica.

Parrots are smarter – Yes, indeed icehot5 is correct. Parrots, in general, are smarter than the crow. The African Gray (parrot) specifically. However, crows and ravens are smart as well, ranking number 9 on the top 10 smartest animals list, excluding humans.

That’s stupid – Eh, my dog is smarter than your crow. He could beat it in a game of fetch anyday! Plus my dog doesn’t have to fly. Instead, he just runs.

ya think?? – yeah maybe he can teach u a thing or two….

Wrong! – The Raven is the smartest bird. They have been known to imitate any sound they hear, including dogs and motorcycles. They also actually play games with each other! I don’t think any of them say “Never More” though! ;)
-Source: Ranger Rick Magazine (So I have a few, so what?)
P.S. Never More is from Edgar Allan Poe’s poem “The Raven”
P.P.S. Your dog is not a bird. Please don’t say he is smarter than a bird, because he is in a higher species, so DUH he’s smarter!

so the parrot thinks he’s so smart.. well… – if the gray parrot is so smart, hows come he didnt think of puting the nut in the middle of the street ??? huh???
the crow even waited til the coast was clear to go retrieve! and lived to tell all!!!

Wrong! is wrong….. – Dog is higher on the food chain…but not in the brain. Dog made #7 on the top ten list….beat by a pig, a crow, a parrot, and yes, even the squirrel figured out more puzzles than your dumb loyal dog…he’s just loyal…that’s it. He memorizes simple commands…cannot figure out puzzles or a mirror.

penguins – penguins are planning on taking over the world not squirrels and crows sheesh

I wonder – I don’t know about that, pigeons are pretty smart to. They can be used to find lost people from a helicopter…as long as the lost person happens to be wearing oramge that day.

Bullseye! – The pigeon is also a pretty acurate bomber. Especially when tageting bald guys. ;)

YOU’RE ALL WRONG! – THE PANDAS ARE THE ULTIMATE LIFEFORM. IF THEY ONLY HAD WMDs (which I will soon be suppling to every panda on the planet) THEY COULD RULE THE WORLD!!! FEAR THE PANDAS BIACHES!

Major Energy, Deadbob. As for you all…… – Simple Words: Who Gives A Rat’s Ass???? People, it’s just a freakin’ bird. We eat they’re kind, anyhow! The crocidile hunter even plays with it’s distant cousins. So what if they’re smart? They become endangered anyway. It’s not like its gonna tell you off or something if you harm it. Major lethel if it points its butt at you. So chill out. If you’re obessessed with the bird, find a freakin scarecrow.

Smartness – i heard somewhere that if you split a crow’s(or raven’s i forget which) tounge it would be able to talk, like a parrot

The dummest of all humans – that bird may be the smartest of all birds but i am the dummest of all humans lol

Wrong Info on African Greys – Just to correct icehot5 – African greys actually only have the emotional intelligence of a 3 year old and the cognitive intelligence of a 4-5 year old – not 7 – 10
And presumably the raven is thought by scientists to be the smarter of the bird species – or tied with the African Grey – this issue is controversal
