Highest Mountain

Mount Everst in Nepal, China: 29,035 feet / 8850 meters (seven feet [2.1 meters] above it’s height of 29,028 feet which was determined in 1954).

  1. actually… – the highest mountain is actually Mauna Kea, in Hawaii. 13,000 feet are underwater, but from base to summit, it is something like 33,000 feet

  2. *Actually* – Mauna Kea is the *tallest* mountain, not the highest. Mt. Everest is the highest because the top is the largest distance from sea level, thus making it higher than all other mountains, but Mauna Kea is the tallest, because from bottom to top it’s distance from tip to base is longer than the others.
