Dirty Moths

That white, powdery stuff on the wings of moths is actually the way moths dispose of waste.

  1. Scales – The powdery stuff is actually scales on the wing of the moth, giving it enough air resistance to get airborne. The same holds true for butterflies.

  2. strange but true – and if u touch it the moth or butterfly’s wings it will never be able to fly again and will starve to death

  3. web – I heard somwhere that the scales on a moths wing are there to stop it getting eaten by spiders: if they fly into a web then the scales detatch from the moth so it dosent get stuck.

  4. uh uh – well your all rong, it is actually when the first ever moth flew into my friends face powder…well that’s what she told me.
